LittleBigPlanet religiously recalled   20 Oct 2008

LittleBigPlanet religiously recalledLittleBigPlanet has been delayed days before release due to a couple of passages from the Qur'an being included in the game.

The passages were contained in the background music, which when translated, were: 'Every soul shall have the taste of death' and 'All that is on earth will perish'.

Sony initially decided to release an online update, but changed their minds and recalled the game so people without Internet access would have the same content as those who did.

LittleBigPlanet isn't the first time developers have modified games to avoid offending the Islamic religion. Nintendo's Zelda: Ocarina of Time contained a music track with Islamic phrases that was edited out in later shipments of the game, while last year developers for Zack & Wiki and Call of Duty 4 were both modified before release upon request.
